What is your prefered free Content Management System?

Someone asked the above question on LinkedIn, so I've decided to give an answer.

I've given a try to joomla, spip, dotclear and for the specific needs of one of the projects that I was implementing (accessibility, multilingual and French language documentation) I've choosen spip.

Anyway, the CMS that will fit your needs will be based on several aspects. Here, you will find two information sources that I think will help you make a choice. Firstly, the OpensourceCMS site which lets you try several CMS without even installing them and finally the CMS Matrix site which lets you compare them.
